Citizens from countries that are currently sanctioned (or have close ties to) Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and Venezuela are ineligible.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, applications from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus are not currently eligible. The list of ineligible countries may be adjusted by the Agency from time to time.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Where will the collection of biometrics to apply for Malta immigration records be done?<br \/>\n<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The collection of biometric data is held at the Business Centre at Zentrum Business Centre, Level 2, Mdina Road, Qormi QRM 9010, Malta. Agency employees will be notified by email when the residence card is available.<\/p>\n<h2>If the applicant owns assets worth \u20ac500,000 (of which \u20ac150,000 must be financial assets), does that amount apply only to the main applicant or also to other listed dependents?<\/h2>\n<p>The amount applies to the main registrant only. The amount does not change according to the number of people included in the application.<\/p>\n<h2>Are cryptocurrencies allowed as financial assets?<\/h2>\n<p>No, these currencies are not allowed. The Authority&#8217;s decision as to whether the evidence provided proves a genuine connection is final and cannot be appealed and\/or discussed further.<\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the administrative fee for each application?<br \/>\n<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>An administrative fee of \u20ac40,000 per application will apply. A non-refundable initial fee of \u20ac10,000 must be paid to the Authority within one month of application. The remaining \u20ac30,000 must be paid within two months of the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance in Principle.<\/p>\n<h2>In case of applying for the whole family, what contributions are required?<\/h2>\n<p>The contribution fee of \u20ac28,000 (if purchasing the property) or \u20ac58,000 (if renting the property) covers the main applicant, spouse and children, who are primarily dependent on the main applicant at the time of application. For the parents and grandparents of the main applicant and spouse, an additional fee of \u20ac7,500 is applied per person.<\/p>\n<h2>Is there an Identity Malta residence card fee?<\/h2>\n<p>A processing fee is applied when the residence card is issued or renewed. The fee is currently \u20ac137.50 per person for the first 5 years and \u20ac27.50 per year on renewal.<\/p>\n<h2>How long is the validity period of the residence certificate and residence card?<\/h2>\n<p>The Certificate of Residence does not expire as long as it complies with all Program obligations. The residence card is valid for 5 years or until expiration, at the age of 14 and 18, after which the beneficiary must reapply to renew the card.<\/p>\n<h2>Do applicants need to own\/lease property in Malta during the application period?<\/h2>\n<p>No. The applicant must own\/lease the property and submit the relevant documents within 8 months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Approval in Principle. However, a property that has been leased\/purchased prior to the application and meets the rules regarding property valuation, is still acceptable.<\/p>\n<h2>Can the beneficiary (including the family members included in the application) sell or stop leasing the qualifying property purchased for the first 5 years and replace it with another qualifying property?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes, for the first 5 years, the beneficiary can sell or cease leasing the qualifying property and buy\/lease new property as long as the person continuously meets the conditions of the qualifying property.<\/p>\n<p>However, the beneficiary is not allowed to transfer from owned property to leased property in the first 5 years. There must be no gap between the end date of the previous lease\/ownership agreement and the new lease\/ownership agreement. A certified copy of the property purchase\/lease contract must be submitted to the Agency as evidence.
