Greece Speeds Up Golden Visa Processing to 3 Months

Katerina Saranti, a representative of MIBS Group, an immigration investment firm, shared at the IMI Connect Miami (an international immigration investment forum) about significant improvements in the processing of Golden Visa applications for residency in Greece.

Previously, applicants had to wait up to 20 months for their applications to be processed. However, thanks to the opening of additional offices in Athens and the distribution of applications to other regions, the processing time has been significantly reduced to around 3 months.

Saranti noted that many investors are now turning to regional offices like Alexandroupoli to avoid the backlog in Athens. However, she also advised investors to carefully consider their long-term plans, as future green card renewal procedures will need to be carried out at the original application location.

The Greek Golden Visa program is currently attracting the interest of many investors with various property investment levels: 800,000 Euros, 400,000 Euros, and 250,000 Euros. Among these, the 250,000 Euro investment level is the most popular, with a trend of converting old buildings into apartments.
